Within my return to the second year of my Art and design course in North West Regional College, we were introduced to the task of drawing a life model and capturing their movement and proportions in acceptable detail.
At first I thought it was difficult capturing the curves and likeliness of a human, but once my tutor provided us with a trick in order to document a models proportion. The drawing became easier and through practice I was able to quickly sketch the body of the woman and fill in the rest on my within my own imagination, when the model had to change position.
I believe through further practice with this style of drawing, even within the short trial period. I was able to progress and strengthen my ability to document a life model well and I hope to encourage this into the real world and within my own work.
However a skill which I could strengthen is my ability to quickly and efficiently document the movements of a life object, as I found myself being too slow and falling behind before the next pose. I think this would be good skill to learn if I wish to continue drawing life models within the outside world and nature and to incorporate this within my own work.
